The insieme21 calendar project had almost no budget. At one point the question came up: “How much does a photographer cost?” My answer was: “Nothing. I can do it.”
At the time I wasn't a photographer. So I spent the next two weeks teaching myself portrait photography through Lynda.com tutorials before setting off to photograph more than 100 people across eight regions of Switzerland.
Alongside the calendar images, another body of work emerged. A selection of these photographs was later chosen for photo17 in Zurich (today photoSCHWEIZ).
