Welcome to a world where art claimed the spotlight—bold, unfiltered, and gloriously free of rules. Imagine that. No boundaries. Just creativity spilling over, unapologetic and wild. This collection, born in Eastern Switzerland over 40 years of unshakable passion, had its moment in 2021 at the Appenzell Art Museum. Paintings. Sculptures. Odd little objects. Contemporary art doing what it does best—being itself.
There was no map. No tidy routes to follow. Just you and the art, figuring it out together. A conversation without words. The collector? They stayed behind the scenes, quietly curating, gathering these treasures like seashells on a beach. It wasn’t about them. It was about the pieces. Their voice. Their stories. A passion project, sure. But also something more—an invitation to get lost in the extraordinary.
And me? I got to design the catalogue. A book, but also not a book. More like a door. Each page tried to capture that sense of discovery, that spark that makes you pause and wonder. Even now, the catalogue sits there, waiting. What will you see? What will it say? The art has its stories, but maybe, just maybe, it’ll tell you yours too.
